Town's reserves side fell to their first defeat of the season as Arsenal came away from Portman Road with a 4-2 victory. Dean Bowditch scored twice for Town, but a hat-trick from Arturo Lupoli and one from Nicklas Bendtner secured the win for the Gunners.

Two goals from Dean McDonald and one from Darren Currie secured the Blues a very comfortable win over Colchester at Layer Road. After a goalless first half, McDonald struck twice just ahead of the hour mark before Currie added a third prior to Greg Halford netting a consolation for the home side.

Left-back Michael Synnott and central midfielder Owen Garvan both picked up knee injuries in Monday's first leg at the St Mary's Stadium.

Town's U18s travel to Southampton tonight for the first leg of the club's first FA Youth final for 30 years (KO 7.45pm). The Blues will be without striker Billy Clarke who has a knee injury which he sustained late in the second leg of the semi-final with Spurs.
